What is whey protein and why does it matter? According to Heathline, whey protein has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation and help with Type 2 Diabetes and IBS symptoms. Did you know that Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the European Union have banned a certain synthetic growth hormone that we NEVER use in our products? We at Fantastic Nutrition want to bring you the highest quality of products possible, so we thought we would give a little bit of background on our whey products and WHY they are unique.
Something that makes our products unique is that our cows are grass-fed. Typically feedlots aren’t the most healthy environment and cows are given antibiotics which causes them to produce higher levels of stress hormones and aren’t able to roam as freely as dairy cows. There has been research that shows cows who are able to graze freely are up to five times healthier. According to TheWashington Post, grass-fed cows may have a higher concentration of antioxidants and vitamins. There is also less fat overall. Other research indicates that cows who graze on fresh pastures produce up to five times more of a healthy, unsaturated fat called Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), which has shown to help with weight loss and heart health.
Another unique feature of our products are, that they are hormone free(rBST)! Many dairy cows are routinely injected with synthetic synthetic growth hormone (recombinant bovine somatotropin or rBST: also known as rBGH). The impacts of using rBST have been controversial in the U.S. for years. Many feel that this artificial growth hormone causes a compositional difference in the milk, raises IGF-1 levels in the milk and may adversely affect the health of the animal.
We source our proteins from dairies where the use of rBST is not allowed, in order to ensure our proteins are free of the effects of synthetic growth hormones and that we are not contributing to its continued use. We want you to have complete trust in our natural weight loss shakes.
